About · Jacek Sultan
I write code, design systems and run a company. What interests me most are the decisions between those three worlds.

The short version
The short version
Programming started for me long before my first job in tech. At first it was curiosity: small scripts, websites for friends, things I broke faster than I could fix them.
I’ve been programming professionally since 2017. Over those years I’ve worked at product companies, at an agency, on client projects and in my own business. Each of these taught me something different: scale, pace, talking to clients, and responsibility for what runs in production.
Today I work as CTO at Dock. I combine system design, programming and running a company. I care not only about whether a solution works, but also whether the team can maintain it, grow it and pay for it sensibly.
Experience
A timeline, not a résumé.
- since 2024
Dock CTO
I’m responsible for technology at the company: architecture, infrastructure, quality, and the development of the DockAccess and DockRay products.
- 2021–2024
Studio Creativa Developer
Web projects for clients. Lots of different systems, deadlines and conversations about what’s really needed.
- 2020–2021
ESCOLASOFT Developer
Software for education, alongside running my own business.
- 2019–2021
Repoleved Self-employed
My first projects on my own: quoting, scoping and responsibility from start to finish.
- 2019
Wakacje.pl Developer
Work on a high-traffic website with a large number of dependencies.
- 2017–2019
GForces Polska Developer
My first commercial job. Learning to work in a team, do code review and deliver on time.
How I work
Five steps I repeat, whatever the scale.
Diagnose the context
Who will maintain it, what it might cost, what already exists.
Choose a solution
At least two options and a trade-off that’s written down explicitly.
Roll it out
Small steps that can be undone.
Observe
Metrics, logs and conversations with the people who use it.
Adjust
I revisit the decision when the assumptions change.

How I teach
We work on your problem, not on my slides.
Practice before theory
We start with the code, configuration or website you’re actually working on.
Examples from production
I show you what something looks like when it serves real users, not just in a tutorial.
Independence
I don’t write it for you. I ask questions until you reach the solution yourself and can do it again on your own.
Concrete feedback
After each session you know what went well, what to improve and what to do before the next one.
